Calvin E. Taylor, of Covington, passed away on Sunday, Nov. 16, 2014, at his residence.
He was 56 years old.
He was born Friday, May 9, 1958 in Bogalusa, La. to Cleveland Ray Taylor and Hazel Willie Taylor.
He is survived by his son, Brian Taylor and spouse Angel; granddaughters, Addison Taylor and Ava Taylor; father, Cleveland Ray Taylor; brothers, Robert Taylor (Aggie) and Perry Taylor; nephew, Robbie Taylor (Aimee); and niece, Melissa Wall (Milton).
He was predeceased by his mother, Hazel Willie Taylor.
Funeral services were held on Nov. 19 at E. J. Fielding Funeral Home, 2260 West 21st Avenue Covington.

Julia Lorene Atkisson Somers passed away peacefully surrounded by her loved ones on Sunday, Nov. 2, 2014, in Mandeville.
She was 91 years old.
She is survived by her children, Nancy Podsiadlik, Darci Compton (Steve), and Julie Runyon (Glen); sister, Vera Kaser; grandchildren, Jennifer Siravo, Dustin Somers, Teri Huntley, Peter John Eichhorn, Katie Smith (Phil), Steven Compton, and Natalie Ruynon Vizioli (Gary); and 13 great grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Sidney Atkisson and Marie Atkisson Simpson; husband, John David Somers; son, John David Somers Jr.; and siblings, Loretta Holt and Roy Atkisson.
She was born on January 16, 1923, in Augusta, Kan. She was married to John David Somers for 48 years.
She was a longtime member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints.
Funeral services were held on Nov. 6 at The Church Of Jesus Christ Of Latter-Day Saints, 2638 W 15th Ave. Covington.

Betsy Culver Jahncke passed away peacefully on Thursday, Nov. 13, 2014, at St. Tammany Parish Hospital, with her family at her side.
She was 73 years old.
She was the mother of Elizabeth Jahncke Felthun (Luke) of Covington, La., and Helen Jahncke Bartlett (Chad) of Norman, Okla.; “BeBe” to her seven grandchildren, Andrew, Lauren, Connor and Hayley Felthun, Hayden, Cameron and Harrison Bartlett; daughter of the late Dorcas Jane Dusenbury and John Morse Culver; and sister to Jean Culver Dragon (late Arthur Edward Dragon) and John Allan “Jac” Culver.
She had an early career at Children’s Hospital in New Orleans.
Funeral services were held on Nov. 17 at Covington Presbyterian Church, 222 S. Jefferson Street, Covington.

Vivian Eimer Cucchiara passed away on Thursday, Nov. 13, 2014.
She was 93 years old.
She was the mother of Peggy Knight and the late Candy Wayert (Jack) and Bruce Cucchiara; daughter of the late Euphrosyne Stanga Eimer and Arthur Eimer; grandmother of Caitlin Cucchiara Picou (Scott, MD), Christopher Cucchiara (Jayde), Autumn Boh and Obie Boh; and great-grandmother of Jackson Cucchiara and Camilla Rose Cucchiara.
She was a lifelong resident of Covington. She was a prize winning quilter.
Funeral services were held on Nov. 17 at E.J. Fielding Funeral Home, 2260 W. 21st Avenue, Covington.

Iris Serpas Spear passed away on Wednesday, Nov. 12, 2014 in Georgiana, Ala.
She was born on April 8, 1935, in New Orleans, La. to the late Ralph Serpas and Mary Zahn Serpas.
She was married to her husband, the late Salvador Stephen Spear, for 49 years, and together they had two children, Susan S. Johnson (James Michael Johnson) and Stephen R. Spear (Diannah S. Spear).
She was the sister of Merrill S. Ferguson, Ralph Serpas, Bob Serpas, Lewis Serpas, and the late Mary Serpas Walsh.
She was the beloved grandmother of Michelle Johnson, Danielle Spear, Jessica Spear and the late Jason Spear.
Spear was a school teacher for 20 years at Resurrection School.
A funeral Mass was held on Nov. 15 at E. J. Fielding Funeral Home, 2260 W. 21st Ave., Covington.

Timothy “Tim” Shawn Doolin passed away on Wednesday, Nov. 5, 2014.
He was 51 years old.
He was the father of Timothy Doolin Jr. and Megan “Megg” Doolin; son of Patricia McNeely Doolin and Terry William Lee Doolin; and brother of Todd Shannon Doolin and Heather Doolin Whitehead.
He is survived by grandmothers, Berta Stark and Joan McNeely, aunts Susan McNeely Roddy and Mary Stark Jacobs; his children’s mother, Judy Teevan;, and nieces and nephews, Ryan Doolin, Connor Doolin, Caleb Whitehead, Avery Whitehead, and Abbi Grace Whitehead.
He was raised in Memphis, Tenn., graduating from the University of Memphis in 1986 with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Business. In 1991, he moved to Mandeville where he raised his two children and fell in love with Louisiana culture.
A celebration of Tim’s life was held at the River Oaks Clubhouse in Covington on Nov. 15.
Memorial services will be held in Memphis, Tenn. at Memphis Funeral Home, 3700 N. Germantown Rd, on Thursday, Nov. 20 at 11 a.m. with a gathering/visitation at 10 a.m.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations in memory of Mr. Doolin are made to the Coastal Conservation Association (CCA).

Mary Ann Jenkins Andry passed away peacefully on Monday, Nov. 10, 2014, at her home in Kentwood, La.
She had been battling lung and bone cancer since 2011.
She was 56 years old.
She was the first daughter to the late Frank Lamar and Mary Elizabeth Jenkins.
She was a longtime resident of Abita Springs where she attended Abita Springs Jr. High School. She also attended CHS in Covington.
She is survived by her husband of 33 years, Michael Patrick Andry; and sons, Timothy Lewis Revere Jr. and Michael Patrick Andry Jr.; and grandchildren, Lacey and Blake Revere and Trace and Trevor Andry.
She is also survived by sisters, Brenda Jenkins Ledet and Diann Phelps Blackwell; and preceded in death by brother, Albert Leroy Phelps; and sister, Joyce Louise Phelps Smith.
She was employed by Pilot Travel Centers for 14 years.
Funeral services were held on Nov. 14 at E.J. Fielding Funeral Home 2260 W. 21st Ave., Covington.

William E. Richards Jr., of Covington, passed away peacefully in his sleep on Sunday, Nov. 16, 2014, at his residence.
He was 60 years old.
He was born in Kansas City, MO to William E. Richards Sr. and Patty L. Shanks Richards.
He is survived by his wife, Sonia Montgomery; son, William E. Richards III; step-son, Jesse L. Dummitt; and mother, Patty L. Richards.
He was predeceased by his father, William E. Richards Sr.
Richards was a graduate of Marquette University and obtained a Masters Degree from Pepperdine University. He was a consultant for IBM and most recently for Management Resources Group.
As per Richards’ wishes, all services are private.
