Miriam G. “Cookie” Vortisch passed away on Tuesday, July 12, 2016.
She was 82 years old.
She was born in New Orleans and lived in Kenner for over 40 years. Cookie had a passion for bingo and the New Orleans Saints.
She was the devoted wife of the late Adolph F. Vortish for 57 years; loving mother of Miriam Murphy, Gerald Jacobs Jr., Keith Jacobs (Cindy), Virginia Hallock (Roy), Lydia Perret (Ronald), William Vortisch, George Vortisch (Monica), and the late Armando Jacobs, Sr., Claude Vortisch and Rocky Jacobs, Sr.; and stepmother of Adolph “Champ” Vortisch Jr. and Yvette Rush.
She is also survived by numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
A Mass of Christian Burial was held at Divine Mercy Catholic Church, 4337 Sal Lentini Pkwy., Kenner, on Saturday, July 16 at 11:30 a.m.

Zeno Alvin Patecek passed away Monday morning in Covington on June 20, 2016.
He was 84 years old.
He is a native and lifelong resident of Covington. For many years, Zeno continued in the family business of making and repairing shoes, started by his father Mr. August Gustav Patecek in downtown Covington. In addition, he enjoyed a second career as a book keeper and tax preparer.
He was the loving husband of the late Grace Barthel Patecek for over 30 years; loving son of the late Alvina Mary Noe Patecek; and loving father to Angela Marie Patecek, and Paul Michael Patecek, and Paul’s wife Kristin Cangemi Patecek.
He is also survived by his one brother, August Patecek.
His memorial Mass was held on June 24 at St. Peter’s Catholic Church in Covington.

Joseph “Gary” Migliore, a resident of Metairie, La., passed away on Tuesday, July 12, 2016.
He was 69 years old.
He was the son of the late Vincent and Marie Migliore; brother of Charles Kerry Migliore (Charlotte); beloved father of Tonya George (Frank) and Sean Wilson; attentive grandfather to Shelby, Shaylen, Sheridan, and Franki George; ex-wife and lifelong friend, Judy Bush; and nephews Mike Migliore (Jake) and Shane Migliore (Jaden and Cody).
Gary attended Southeastern University and received his bachelor’s degree in marketing. Gary was a kindhearted man who was dearly loved by his family and friends. He will be sadly missed by everyone. And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be anymore pain; for the former things are passed away. We will always carry your memory in our hearts.
The family has chosen to do a private ceremony.

Raymond G. Keiser Jr. “Ray” passed away Thursday afternoon, July 14, 2016.
He was 61 years old.
He was born in New Orleans, a lifelong resident of Gretna and resided in Chalmette for the last 10 years. Raymond loved to draw and would sketch everything, and in his spare time enjoyed refurbishing juke boxes.
He was the son of the late Raymond G. Keiser Sr. and Cecile M. Keiser; father of Joseph Keiser, Cecile M. Keiser Green, (Jessie) Juanita Keiser Adams, (Randy); and brother of Jeanette Schultz and the late George Raymond Keiser.
Ray leaves behind 12 loving grandchildren.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend the Funeral Service at Serenity Funeral Home, 20419 Hwy. 36, Covington, LA. on Saturday morning, July 23 at 12:00 noon. Visitation from 10:30 till service time.
A private interment will be held by the family at a later time. In lieu of flowers please send donations to your favorite charity “in honor of Raymond Keiser.”
