Michael Hurd Swords Sr., a lifelong resident of Covington, passed away peacefully on Friday, Feb. 13, 2015 from complications of leukemia.
He was 54 years old.
He was born on July 13, 1960 in Covington. After graduating from St. Paul’s High School, Swords enrolled and graduated from Southeastern Louisiana University.
He worked at the St. Tammany Parish DA’s office for almost 18 years.
He is survived by his wife, Ruby Crawford Swords; son, Michael Hurd Swords Jr.; parents, Cullom “Buster” Swords and Gayle Hurd Swords of Covington; sisters, Stephanie Swords Fredericks, Kelly Swords, Wendy Swords Stouffer (Mark); brother, Cullom Swords (Lisa Thornburg); parents-in-law, Curtis L. and Frances Carollo Crawford; and siblings-in-law, Curtis R. Crawford (Mary), Terri Crawford Juge (Bobby) and Tina Crawford White (Bill).
He was preceded in death by his sister, Erica Swords (2008) and brother-in-law, Wade M. Crawford (2014).
The memorial service to celebrate Swords’ life will be held on Thursday, Feb. 19 from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. at St. Benedict’s Catholic Church, 20370 Smith Rd., Covington, with a Mass to follow at 12 p.m.
E.J. Fielding Funeral Home of Covington has been entrusted with arrangements.

Dwight Bill Lee passed away on Wednesday, Feb. 11, 2015, at Regency Hospital, Covington.
He was 65 years old.
He was a lifelong resident of Folsom. Past employers include, Equitable Shipyard, Madisonville, and retired from St. Tammany Parish School Board as a custodian at Folsom Elementary.
He was the father of two children, Larry D. Lee (Denise) and Allen Lee.
He is also survived by aunts, Hazel Lee Regan and Rae Lee Saurage; grandfather of Andrew Lee Neal, Becky Dolan, Cody Lee and Rachel Lee; son of the late William “Bill” and Dorothy “Toney” Lee; grandson of the late Norman Lee Sr and Beaner Burnthorne Lee; and Charlie and Cassan Thompson Lee and Frank Toney.
Funeral services were held on Feb. 14 at Lee Hill Baptist Church, Folsom.

Bonnie Ann Lopez Orillion passed away on Saturday, Feb. 14, 2015.
She was 67 years old.
She was the wife of Michael Joseph Orillion; mother of Cherie Orillion and Michael Orillion Jr.; daughter of Lucy Giroir Lopez and Van John Lopez; sister of Van Lopez Jr. and Kay Lopez; and grandmother of Abigail Orillion and Katherine Orillion.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend the memorial service at E.J. Fielding Funeral Home, 2260 W. 21st Avenue, Covington, on Saturday, Feb. 21 at 3 p.m. with visitation on Saturday beginning at 12 noon.

Mary Hunt Draffen passed away peacefully at her home on Thursday, Feb. 12, 2015.
She was 92 years old.
She was the wife of the late Reid Chambers Draffen Jr.; mother of Mary Draffen Beplay and the late David Reid Draffen; daughter of the late Oval Flowers Hunt and James Hunt; grandmother of Byron Lee Beplay (Ashley), Sarah Elizabeth Allen (Bryan), Courtney Draffen Guillen (Julio) and Jacob Reid Draffen (Leah); and great-grandmother of Samantha Beplay, Christine Beplay, Adyson Allen, Hunter Allen and Maggie Allen.
Funeral services were held at Feb. 16 at E.J. Fielding Funeral Home, 2260 W. 21st Avenue, Covington.

Ronald E. Wooley passed away peacefully at home on Tuesday, Feb. 10, 2015.
He was born to the late Mary Francis Coleman and Linder Wooley and has been a resident of Madisonville for 40 years.
He was the husband of Bethany O’Keefe Wooley.
He is survived by step-children, Charles Holcombe, Chad Holcombe, Cory Holcombe (Sarah), James Lockhart (Stephanie), Latricia Lockhart, Derrick Lockhart; six grandchildren; and great-grandson, Kayden.

He was a veteran of the Vietnam War having honorably served the Army of the United States’ 5th Special Forces Recondo Group/173rd Airborne Brigade.

Funeral services were held on Feb. 14 at E.J. Fielding Funeral Home, 2260 W. 21st Ave. Covington.
