Shawn Patrick Liuzza passed away on Monday, Dec. 1, 2014.
He was the son of Michael J. Liuzza Sr. and Alice Maynard Liuzza; and brother of Michael J. Liuzza Jr. and the late Daniel J. Liuzza.
He is also survived by cousins, Charles Costintino, Jeffrey Costintino, Lloyd Elam, Homer Elam and the late Rufus Elam; and uncle of Kate Liuzza and Avery Liuzza.
He was a 1989 graduate of Chalmette High School and was captain of the band, and power lifting team state finalists. He was a competitive body builder, winning numerous contests.
His teaching and coaching career included Pearl River High School, Mandeville Elementary, Plaquemines Elementary and Chalmette Middle School.
He was honored as Teacher of The Year in St. Tammany Parish in 2007-2008.
Funeral Services will be private.
A memorial service will be held at a later date.

Robert Raymond Prats passed away peacefully on Thursday, Dec. 4, 2014, at his home in Covington.
He was born on Tuesday, August 24, 1937, in New Orleans to Elouise Loycano and John T. Prats.
He was the husband of Juanita Galloway “Bonnie” Prats.
He is survived by his daughter, Mary Ann Prats McGeorge (Kenneth); sons, Robert “Ray” Prats Jr. (Stacie) and Donald J. Prats (Melinda); brothers, Jerry, Danny and Wayne Prats; nine grandchildren; and one great-granddaughter.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and one brother, John T. “Jack” Prats Jr.
Funeral services were held on Dec. 8 at E.J. Fielding Funeral Home, 2260 W. 21st Ave. Covington.

Rosette Valudos Rooney (A.K.A. Rosette Alonzo) passed away on Wednesday, Dec. 3, 2014.
She was a native of Metairie, La., and a resident of Abita Springs for the past seven years.
She was the wife of A.L. Alonzo, and by her first marriage to the late Emmett Anthony Rooney.
She was the mother of Victoria Lynne Hendricks and the late Michael E. Rooney.
She is survived by one sister and two brothers.
She was the grandmother of Natasha, Nicole, Chad, Renee, Shawn, Maicey, Bethany, Alison, and Erin; and 12 great-grandchildren.

Adelaide Johnson Boettner passed away peacefully on Saturday, Dec. 6, 2014, at her home in Mandeville, surrounded by her children.
She was born in New Orleans on May 18, 1933 to Adelaide Dumestre and Henry Johnson.
A native of New Orleans, she attended Holy Name of Jesus High School and was a graduate of Southeastern Louisiana University.
After receiving her college degree, she married Robert Boettner Sr.
She was involved with the Fourth Ward Recreation District, a member of the Jaycee Jaynes and a devoted parishioner of Our Lady of the Lake Catholic Church. She dedicated 24 years to the Mandeville City Council.
She is survived by her children, Kim Boettner Martt (Bob), Robert Boettner Jr., Peggy Boettner, Susan Boettner Cazaux (Lanny), and Wendy Boettner Bohlke (Michael); grandchildren, Whitney Parrott Busscher, Corey Cazaux, Christopher Cazaux, Preston Parrott, Thomas Boettner, Kathryn Boettner; and three great-grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her parents; step-mother, Kathryn Johnson; and two brothers.
A funeral Mass was held on Dec. 10 at Our Lady of the Lake Catholic Church, 312 Lafitte St., Mandeville.

Pastor Raymond Paul Scheer, of Covington, passed away on Wednesday, Dec. 3, 2014, at St. Tammany Parish Hospital in Covington.
He was 77 years old.
He was born Tuesday, July 20, 1937, in New Haven, Mo. to Ernst Herman Scheer and Elsa Anna Depperman Scheer Wehmeyer.
He is survived by his wife, Helen Anne Scheer; daughter, Cheryl Scheer Holsten (Paul); son, Scott D. Scheer (Tina); daughter, Beth Scheer Pepperman (David); four grandsons; three granddaughters; one great-granddaughter; brother, Ralph Scheer (Barb); sister, Laverne Kirkpatrick; and brother-in-law, Charles Vedder.
He was predeceased by his parents; step-father, Arthur Wehmeyer; and sister, Janice Vedder.
Scheer graduated from Concordia Theological Seminary in St. Louis, Missouri and started his vicarage in Batavia, New York in 1961-62. His first call was to start a mission at King of Kings Lutheran Church in Shreveport, Louisiana in the African-American community from 1963-1972. He accepted a call in 1972 to Covington at Holy Trinity Lutheran Church, where he served full-time as pastor until his retirement in 2000.
After that he continued to serve in many different capacities at Holy Trinity and within the Covington community.
Funeral services were held on Dec. 8 at Holy Trinity Lutheran Church, 1 N. Marigold Dr. Covington.

Larry Jo Malley passed away on Wednesday, Dec. 3, 2014.
He was 68 years old.
He was the husband of Marlyne Thompson; father of JoLyn Ann Malley Gagliano (Victor); step-father of Lisa Ann Fabel; son of the late Christeene Malley and John Malley Jr.; brother of Aloel Jacobs (Larry “Jake”), Allen Kinsley Malley (Brenda) and the late Lucinda Young Davis (Stanton); and grandfather of Victoria Ann Gagliano and Gino Michael Gagliano.
He was a former resident of Covington where he graduated from Covington High School in 1964.
Funeral services were held on Dec. 5 at E.J. Fielding Funeral Home, 2260 W. 21st Avenue, Covington.

Betty Barfoot Mussachia passed away on Saturday, Nov. 29, 2014, in Covington.
She was born on Friday, September 15, 1944 in Sneads, Fla. to Ruby Crews and Fred Barfoot and lived in St. Bernard Parish for over 40 years before moving to Covington in 2006.

She is survived by daughters, Jo Lynn M. Marino (Mark) and Nicki M. Donnelly (Michael); son, Richard R. Mussachia Jr. (Carol); six grandchildren; one great-grandson; sister, Judith Brannon (Ernie); brother, George McDowell (Wilma); and aunt, Joyce Thienes (Gus).
She was preceded in death by her parents; and brother, James “Buddy” McDowell.
