george conradGeorge Henry Conrad Sr, of Abita Springs, La. passed away on Saturday, September 23, 2017.

He was 88 years of age.

Conrad served the New Orleans Fire Department for 21 years and enjoyed fishing, wood working and gardening.

He was the husband of the late Hermina F. Conrad; father of George H. Conrad, Jr. (Beatrice), Kathy C. Nunez, and Donald J. Conrad (Carmen); and son of the late George Michael Conrad and Elenora Haas Conrad.

Also, brother of Michael Conrad, Elwood “Ike” Conrad, and Therese Casey; and grandfather of Christopher Conrad (Missy), Geoffrey Conrad (Jennifer), Holly Chesnut (Sean), Donald Conrad, Jr. (Gina), Kelly C. Flanagan (Kelly) and Michelle Gilardi (Jason). Also survived by 15 great grandchildren.

Relatives and friends of the family were invited to attend the funeral services at Honaker Funeral Home, 1751 Gause Blvd. West, Slidell, on Saturday, September 30, 2017 at 11 a.m.

Interment followed in Forest Lawn Cemetery, Slidell. Visitation at Honaker Funeral Home was on Saturday, September 30, 2017 from 9 to 11 a.m.

 

 

mary dragg use thisMary Stourac Dragg passed away on Sunday, October 1, 2017 in Covington, LA. She was born on August 14, 1927 in Cedar Rapids, IA to the late Joseph and Mary Stourac. Mary was a lifelong resident of Madisonville, LA.

Mary was the loving mother of Johnny A. Dragg (Barbara) and the late Shirley D. Crusan. She was the proud grandmother of Angela D. Fletcher (Robert), Jeffrey A. Dragg (Amber), David Dragg (Angela), Charles Crusan, Jr. (Hirut) and Matthew Crusan. Mary was the great-grandmother of Quinton, Rebecca, Mary Jo, Mackenzie, Cooper, Jaxon, Luke, and Candace. She was the sister of the late Joseph Stourac, Albert Stourac, and Johnny Stourac.

Relatives and friends are invited to the Funeral Mass at St. Anselm Catholic Church, 306 St. Mary St., Madisonville, LA 70447 on Saturday, October 7, 2017 at 10 a.m. with visitation from 9 a.m. until service time. Interment will follow the service at Wager Cemetery, Madisonville, LA.

 

 

 

 

Edmund Hart Gilmore Jr. died on Wednesday, September 27, 2017 in Mandeville, LA. He was born on November 27, 1942 in New Orleans, LA to the late Edmund Hart Gilmore, Sr. and Anna Feehan Gilmore.

Edmund was married to his beloved wife, Nancy Scott Gilmore, for 33 years. He was the loving father of Renee Irene Gilmore, Philip Morgan Gilmore, step-father of Laura Frerer-Schmidt, Heidi Irene Frerer-Guthe, and Sierra Lyn Frerer-Summerville. Edmund was the grandfather of Jupiter, Isadora, Bexon, Anton, Saffron, Julia, and Alexander. He was the brother of the late Anne Gilmore Uhry, D.D.S. Edmund was preceded in death by his parents, his sister, and the mother of his children, Sally Irene Schneidau Gilmore.

Funeral services were held privately by the family. In remembrance, the family requests donations to the American Red Cross Hurricane Relief Fund, www.redcross.org/donate.
