She was the wife for 64 years to Robert D. Hunt, Jr.; mother of Richard Hunt (Samantha), Brenda Clelland (Raymond), Cynthia Dianne Dunn (Hershal), and the late Roger Hunt (Dolores); and daughter of the late James Coyne and Catherine Tisdale Coyne.
Also, grandmother of Kimberly and Joshua Hunt (Kandice), Bryan (Jennifer), Bruce, and Tim Clelland, Roger Hunt, Jr. (Kelly), and Hershal Dunn, Jr.; great-grandmother of Corey, Kristen, and Cameron Clelland, Natalie and Allie Clelland, Gage and Gavin Clelland, and Tyler Hunt; and great great-grandmother of Hunter Clelland.
Also, sister of Clara Galloway, Nadia Stewart, Bobby Coyne, the late W. E. Coyne, James Coyne, Herbert Coyne, Wayne Coyne, Barbara Hunt, Michael Coyne, and Larry Coyne.
Relatives and friends are invited to the Funeral Service at E.J. Fielding Funeral Home, 2260 W. 21st Avenue, Covington, on Thursday, July 13, 2017 at 12 noon with visitation from 10 a.m. to service time. Interment will follow the service at Bruhl Cemetery, Folsom.
A native of San Diego, California and longtime resident of Slidell and Mandeville, she was a frequent volunteer at her children’s school. She enjoyed an outstanding career which began in the technology manufacturing industry and rose through the ranks to become one of the few female executives for a Fortune 500 company in her field.
She was the founder of the You Are Loved ministry at First Baptist Church of Slidell, which ministers to nursing homes and prisons throughout the Northshore of Louisiana.
She was the wife for 53 years to Michael H. Whelan; mother of Michael H. Whelan Jr. and wife Crystal Whelan of Mounds, Ok., and Robert Whelan and wife Marianne Whelan of Mandeville; grandmother of Patrick Ramos, Sara Ramos, Login Whelan, Matthew Whelan, Alin Whelan, Ashley Whelan and Thomas Whelan; and great-grandmother of Asher Michael Ramos.
Also, daughter of the late Howard and IlaBelle Bobbitt; and sister of John Bobbitt.
A Celebration of Life and Memorial Service will be held at First Baptist Church, Student Center, 4141 Pontchartrain Drive, Slidell on Thursday, July 13. Visitation from 12-1 pm, Service at 1 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests any donations be made to First Baptist Church Slidell to benefit the You Are Loved Ministry and Sunshine Club.
Beaux Anthony Richard, 2-years-old, of Mandeville died on Monday, July 03, 2017.
He was the son of Dru Richard, Jr. and Amanda Wingrove; grandson of Dru Richard, Sr., Lori Hinyup Richard, David Stubbs, Diana Perry Stubbs, Joshua Wingrove and Jackie Nguyen; and great-grand son of Carol Spano Richard, Thomas Hinyup, Gwen Frisch Hinyup, Alice Newman Perry and Linda Capitano Trosclair.
He was preceded in death by his great grandfather Emmett Richard, Jr., great grandfather Laurier Perry, Sr., and great grandfather Basil Wingrove, III.
A memorial s was held on Saturday, July 08, 2017 at E. J. Fielding Funeral Home, Covington.
