Joseph Samuel Adams, of Mandeville, passed away on Wednesday, Feb. 26, 2014.
He was 28 years old.
He was born on November 24,1985, in New Orleans to Joseph L. and Christine Templet Adams.
He is survived by sister, Katherine A. Hode and her husband Ryan; and nephew, Thomas Joseph Hode.
He was the grandson of Mary C. Adams and the late Joseph S. Adams, and Geraldine and Durward Templet; and nephew of Joann and David Maurer, Jacqueline and David Didier, Rondalyn and Leland Reeser, Michael Templet and Dianna Grose, Robert and Bobbi Templet, and Paul and Kelley Templet.
He attended the John Folse Culinary Institute at Nicholls State University.
A funeral mass was held on March 1 at E.J. Fielding Funeral Home, Covington.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations in Adams’ memory be made to a youth charity of your choice.

Mary Gillis White passed away on Saturday, March 1, 2014.
She was 86 years old.
She was the wife of the late Curtis Harold White; mother of Millie White Buras (husband, Wayne); daughter of the late Willie Sullivan Gillis and Tom Huey Gillis; grandmother of Allen Buras (Jennifer) and Ryan Buras (Simone); great-grandmother of Avery, Beau, Ella, Yvette and Giselle Buras; and sister of Lucille Honig and the late Mildred Gill.
She was a resident of Covington for the past 50 years.
A memorial service was held on March 2 at E.J. Fielding Funeral Home, Covington.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests contributions in memory of White to be made to Faith Presbyterian Church or Hospice of St. Tammany.

Ruth Mary Agnes Baumeister Buckner passed away on Sunday, Feb. 23, 2014, after a long illness.
She was one of 12 children born to John W. and Annie Seelhorst Baumeister.
She left one daughter, Rita B. Wallace and her husband Michael McNabb of Covington; sisters, Lois Moffett of Shelbyville, Kentucky and Frances Atkinson of Huntsville, Ala.; grandchildren, Michael D. Wallace and Rebecca W. Pierce of Covington; and great-grandchildren, Christopher M., Alexis, and Zachary Wallace, Brandon and Brittany Pierce.
She moved with her daughter to Covington in 2005.
A funeral mass was held on March 1 at St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church, Montevallo, Ala.

Giles Loren Cornwell, of Sun, passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, Feb. 22, 2014, at his houseboat in Bush.
He was born to Vern Cornwell and F. Lorraine Cornwell.
He was 56 years old.
He is survived by his wife, Sue Cornwell; son, Jeremiah Cornwell; daughters, Kelle Montenegro, Tesha Thomas, and Amy Cornwell; father, Vern Cornwell; brothers, Gary Cornwell, Glenn Cornwell, Gene Cornwell, and Greg Cornwell; grandsons, Trey Rodrigue, and Mark Danko; and granddaughters, Destinee Duet and Jada Danko.
He was predeceased by his mother, F. Lorraine Cornwell; father-in-law, Fit Melancon; and mother-in-law, Bonnie Melancon.
Cornwell worked for Boh Brothers Construction Co. for 32 years. He lived in St. Tammany Parish for the last 28 years.
Funeral services were held on Feb. 27 at E.J. Fielding Funeral Home, Covington.

Sara Katherine Simmons passed away on Tuesday, Feb. 25, 2014.
She was 89 years old.
She was the daughter of the late Minnie Dee Wells Simmons and Martin Arnold Simmons.
