Peggy Joetta Lee Vernon, a native of Folsom and resident of Montpelier, La., passed away peacefully Saturday, March 8, at North Oaks Hospital in Hammond.
She was 61 years old.
She was born in Independence, La.
Surviving are her daughters, Christy and son-in-law, David George of Holden, and Amanda and son-in-law Timmy Keating of Holden; five granddaughters, Kyleigh, Joleigh, Annaleigh, and Brynleigh George and Raylynn Keating; two sisters, Patsy Lane and husband Andy of Folsom, and Gloria Vinyard and husband Gary of Loranger; brothers, Robert Lee and wife Dixie of Loranger, and Ronald Lee of Folsom; and longtime friend and ex-husband, Leland “Lucky” Vernon.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Robert and Maxine Lee; niece, Jacqueline Ann Lane Smith; and nephew, James Brian Lane.
Funeral services were held on March 12 at Lee Hill Baptist Church, 11001 Lee Settlement Rd., Folsom.

Sidney Paul Quinn passed away on Tuesday, March 4, 2014, after a long battle with cancer.
He was 81 years old.
Quinn was born in Sturgis, Ms. to the late Grady and Lucine Quinn, joining his brother, the late James Quinn.
Over the course of his 55 years of marriage to Patricia Ann Quinn, Quinn’s life was enriched by the lives of his children, Pamela, Cynthia, Mary, Kathy and Michael.
He is survived by 10 grandchildren and one great-grandchild .
A memorial mass was held on March 10 at St. Anselm Catholic Church, 306 St. Mary St, Madisonville.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests contributions in memory of Sidney P. Quinn be made to Notre Dame Hospice or the St. Anselm Building Fund.

Christine F. Jourdan, a retired paralegal, passed away on Tuesday, March 4, 2014.
She was 62 years old.
She was the wife of Patrick Dudley Jourdan; mother of Idun-Cara Jourdan Byers (Timothy); step-mother of Tracey Jourdan Harvey; daughter of the late Vincent and Audrey Famularo Jr.; grandmother of Cara Christine Jourdan; and step-grandmother of Heather Harvey.
Memorial services were held on March 10 at E.J. Fielding Funeral Home, 2260 W. 21st Avenue, Covington.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests Masses or contributions in memory of Christine to be made to the Team Gleason Foundation.

Richard Patrick Callaway passed away on Sunday, March 2, 2014.
He was 70 years old.
He was the husband of Dana Falgout Callaway; father of Dena Callaway Grosart and Erin Callaway; son of the late Marie Louise Madison Callaway and John Roy Callaway Sr.; brother of John “Don” Callaway Jr., Wilson, Eugene, and Michael Callaway; and grandfather of Ashton, Allie and Caitlin Dyer.
Callaway graduated from West Jefferson High School, received his Bachelor of Science degree from LSU and his Master of Arts from William Carey College. He was a high school teacher for the Plaquemines Parish School Board and the Jefferson Parish School Board. He was a member of the Moisant Squadron Civil Air Patrol, the Asbestos Workers Local #53, Jefferson Federation of Teachers, The West Bank Art Guild, and the Samaritan Center.
A celebration of life was held on March 8 at St. Timothy United Methodist Church, 335 Asbury Dr., Mandeville.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests contributions in memory of Callaway to be made to Samaritan Center Cancer Fund, 402 Girod St., Mandeville, LA 70448 or St. Tammany Parish Hospital Hospice, 725 W. 11th Ave., Covington, LA 70433.

Rosemary Cooley passed away on February 26, 2014, at AMG Specialty Hospital in Houma.
She was 67 years old.
She was the companion for 13 years to Darryl Duke; mother of Anthony “Tony” Palmisano and his wife Tina; sister of Mary Ann Odom, Carl Laneri, Matilda “Virginia” Simon and the late Mary Lou Blackledge; grandmother of Amanda, Heath, and Christine; and great-grandmother of Victoria, Falynne, Kaylin, and Madeline.
A private memorial service will be held at a later time.

A. W. “Bill” Anzel, Jr. passed away on Wednesday, March 5, 2014 at the age of 88. Beloved husband of the late Mary Jane Campise Anzel. Son of the late Julia and Anthony Anzel. Brother of Lois Anzel.

There will be no funeral services. A Memorial Mass will be said at a later date.
