Ruben James Adams, of Kenner, La., passedaway on Friday, July 12, 2013.
He was 43 years old.
He was born Monday, February 9, 1970 in Galliano, La. to Carl Wayne Adams and Joyce Marie Adams.
Adams is aurvived by his parents; companion, Brandi Calligan; sons, Shelton Adams and Chance Adams; and brothers, Derek Adams (Kristen) and Dustin Adams (Shannon).
A memorial service was held at Leitz-Eagan Funeral Home, 4747 Veterans Blvd., Metairie, on July 20.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Ruben J. Adams Benefit Fund at any Capitol One Bank location.

Garrett James DeVillier passed away on Tuesday, July 16, 2013, in Covington.
He was born on March 3, 1983 in Houma, La. to James and Shelley DeVillier.
He was the grandson of the late Lionel Louis and Hilda Robert Prejean, and Charles Austin and Vertelee Marie DeVillier.
DeVillier was the brother of Kelsey Dauterive (Gerard Jr.), Rhett, and Charlayne DeVillier.
He was born and raised in Covington and attended Fontainebleau High School.
Funeral services were held on July 20 at E. J. Fielding Funeral Home in Covington. His urn will be placed with his maternal grandparents in Holy Savior Mausoleum at St. Charles Cemetery, Luling, La.

Paul Arthur Cazaubon Jr. passed away on Thursday, July 18, 2013, at his home in Covington.
He was 93 years old.
He was born on Sunday, March 7, 1920, to Paul Arthur Cazaubon and Cecile Hubert Cazaubon in New Orleans.
Cazaubon was the husband of Dorothea Burkart Cazaubon for 67 years. He is survived by his daughter, Paulette Cazaubon Richard (Jules); son, Michael Cazaubon (Pam); grandchildren, Adrienne Fujiwara, Jules (Jay) and Paul Richard, Andree Grant, James and Nicholas Cazaubon; and four great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; one sister, Rosemarie Zielinski; and two brothers, Warren and Sheldon Cazaubon.
Cazaubon was a graduate of Jesuit High School and studied music at Loyola University. A veteran of World War II, he fought in the Pacific Theatre with the U.S. Army Air Corps, 380th Bomb Group, 530th Squadron. He returned to New Orleans and worked for the Federal Government until his retirement.
He played the trumpet and trombone for many years with numerous local bands including the Larry Veca Band and the Jay Zainey Orchestra.
A memorial service to celebrate Paul’s life was held privately by his family.

Hilda Georgina Kazda passed away on Saturday, July 20, 2013, at her home in Abita Springs.
She was born on Tuesday, June 4, 1940, in Tegucigalpa, Honduras to Antonio Sanchez and Gladys Younger Sanchez.
She was the wife of Joseph F. Kazda.
She is survived by one son, Burt Dalton (Nilar); daughters, Marjorie Dalton (Jeany Chandler) and Rebecca Maurer (Kirk); sister, Ada Romero; and brother, Antonio Sanchez.
Funeral services were held on July 23 at E.J. Fielding Funeral Home, 2260 W. 21st Ave., Covington.
Jesse C. Gardner passed away on Monday, July 15, 2013, at his home in Covington.
He was born January 28, 1942, to Woodie Swan and Minnie Mae Dewberry Gardner in Jentry, Ms.
He was the husband of Ruthie Mae Rogers Gardner for 46 years.
He is survived by his daughter, Ruth Gardner Damare’ and husband Joseph; three sons, Billy and his wife Jina, Jesse Jr. and his wife Michelle and W. Casey Gardner; 10 grandchildren, Michael, IV and Zachary Leonard, Brittany and Jessica Damare’, Samantha Maxwell and her husband Brian, Cole, Landry, Blaine, Ian and Eliana Gardner; and three great-grandchildren, Zander, Jordyn and Lorelei Maxwell.
He is also survived by four sisters and three brothers. He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers.
Gardner moved his family to Covington in 1974 to pastor The Church of God of Prophecy. He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy and also worked as a Master Mechanic for more than 40 years.
Funeral services were held on Thursday, July 18, 2013 at E.J. Fielding Funeral Home, 2260 W. 21st Ave., Covington, LA 70433.
