Timmy C. Taylor, of Covington, passed away on Sunday, Dec. 29, 2013.
He was 71 years old.
He was born to Wade Taylor and Ida K. Taylor.
He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Elois McCann Taylor; daughters, Tammy Taylor and Karen Taylor McKnight; grandson, Devin McKnight; sister, Bunice Montagne; and brothers, Leland and Raleigh Taylor.
He was predeceased by his parents and sisters, Agnes Trahan and Ida Mae FitzSimons; and brothers, Lawrence, A.J., Wallace, Francis and Paul Taylor.
A funeral service was held on Jan. 2 at E. J. Fielding Funeral Home, Covington.

Claire Balk Hargis passed away on Tuesday, Dec. 31, 2013.
She was 76 years old.
She was the wife of Charles J. Hargis III; mother of Sandra M. Oswald, Rachel Muzik-Oswald and Charles J. Hargis IV (Kara); daughter of the late Agnes Trahan Balk and Clement H. Balk; sister of Raymond Harding, Linda Campbell and the late Ruth Loup; aunt of Frank Bachot and Perry Campbell; and grandmother of Jade, Alexa, Carly, Jacob, Tyler and Bailey.
She was a native of New Orleans and a resident of St. Tammany Parish for the past 20 years.
All funeral services are private.

Shawn Michael Lockhart Sr. passed away on Monday, Dec. 30, 2013.
He was 48 years old.
He is the husband of Daneen Hackney Lockhart, high school sweethearts since 1982. They were married 26 years.
He was the father of Leighanne Carla, Shawn Michael Jr., and Emily Anne Lockhart; son of Donnelly Joseph Lockhart Sr. and Jane Elizabeth Kain Lockhart; and brother of Donnelly Joseph Lockhart Jr. (Susan), Alison Lockhart Knight.
He was preceded in death by his brother, Darren Evan Lockhart Sr.
Lockhart was a native of New Orleans, and a resident of Mandeville for 14 years. He was a 1983 graduate of East Jefferson High School and was a body shop owner and paint specialist.
A funeral mass was held on Jan. 4 at E.J. Fielding Funeral Home, Covington.

Marguerite Lucille Fry of Covington, formerly of New Orleans and Washington D.C., passed away peacefully surrounded by loved ones on Wednesday, Jan. 1, 2014
She was 91 years old..
She was born in New Orleans to the late Thomas Curlen Fry and Lucille Braud Fry.
She was preceded in death by siblings, Thomas Fry (Helen and Kieko), John R. Fry (Jane) and Virginia Fry Meyers (Bill).
She was the sister of Ernest Michael Fry (Stephanie); aunt of Susan Meyers Skates (Phillip), Karen Meyers, John R. Fry Jr. (Ann), Thomas R. Fry (Lyn), Christopher M. Fry (Cheri’), Jane ”Puddy” Fry Robinson (Jim), and Annie Fry Verzwyvelt.
After she graduated from Dominican College in New Orleans, she began her teaching career. She then changed careers to an administrative assistant on Capitol Hill, including but not limited to Senator Hale Boggs, the State Department, the White House under Ronald Reagan, and finally serving the U.S. Ambassador to Switzerland for numerous years. After retirement, she enjoyed many years working as a volunteer at the National Gallery of Art in Washington, DC in between her many travels abroad.
She was a long-time member of the Children of Mary Sodality and Alumni of the Sacred Heart.
A funeral mass was held on Jan. 2 at St. Joseph Abbey, 75376 River Rd. St. Benedict, La.

Bernard “Ben” L. Kelley passed away quietly in his Covington home surrounded by loved ones on Friday, Jan. 3, 2014.
He was 89 years old.
He is survived by his wife, Lois Kelley; step-son, Nathan (Conchy); granddaughter, Jennifer (Omar); and great-grand children, Jaden and Juleana.
He was predeceased by his first wife, Louise “Weezie” Kelley; and his parents, Anna Hessian and James Kelley.
He was a graduate of Redemptorist High School and Tulane University, and was a World War II Veteran, U.S. Navy, and retired Personnel Director of The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers.
Kelley was a resident of Covington for 35 years, and was a member of the Knights of Columbus.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend the visitation from 11 a.m. until 12:30 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 9 at E.J. Fielding Funeral Home, 2260 W. 21st Ave., Covington, followed by a funeral mass at St. Joseph Abbey, 75376 River Rd., St. Benedict, LA 70457 at 1 p.m.
Interment will be at Hope Mausoleum, 4841 Canal St., New Orleans.
In lieu of flowers, donations to Saint Joseph Abbey are preferred.
