Joseph “Joe” C. Monteleone passed away on Wednesday, Dec. 18, 2013.
He was 79 years old.
Monteleone was born in Dallas, Texas and lived in New Orleans, Metairie and Alta Loma, California. At the time of his death, he was a resident of Madisonville. He attended Loyola and Tulane Universities and enlisted in the United States Marine Corps during the Korean War and was awarded the Good Conduct Medal and the National Defense Service Medal.
He was the husband of Deanna Monteleone; father of Karen Monteleone, Kim Monteleone (Craig Stevens), Greg Monteleone (Kay), Phillip Forbes (Angela) and Michelle Paddock (Shawn); son of the late Carrie Vawter Monteleone and Joseph Monteleone; and grandfather of Andrew, Matthew, Jack and Charlie.
A funeral mass was held on Dec. 21 at St. Anselm Catholic Church, 306 St. Mary St., Madisonville.

Jane Mott Guidry, of Covington, passed away on Wednesday, Dec. 18, 2013.
She was 68 years old.
She was the daughter of the late Gerard Charles Mott and Mabel Claire Mott.
She is survived by her husband of 25 years, Robert J. Guidry; step-mother to Chris Guidry (Sirlei), Libby Guidry, and Stacey Guidry; step-grandmother of Ivana Guidry and Sophie Guidry; sister of Gary G. Mott Sr. (Anne), Wade C. Mott (Linda), and Lisa Mott Dugger (Mike); aunt of David Mott, Jason Mott (Tammie), Gary Mott Jr. (Donna), Danny Mott (Shelly), Brian Mott (Jimmy Mack), Jeffrey Mott (Laura), Stephen Mott (Mandy), Brooke Dugger Paulin (Jason), Kristin Dugger Kingrea (Craig), and Molly Dugger Koenig (Clay).
She was a resident of Covington since 1950 and a graduate of St. Scholastica Academy. She retired from Delta Airlines as a stewardess and Eastman Kodak as a customer support representative in the copy products division.
A funeral mass was held on Dec. 21 at St. Peter Catholic Church, 125 E. 19th Ave., Covington.
In lieu of flowers, the family would prefer memorial donations to Mary Byrd Perkins Center, 1203 S. Tyler St., Covington, LA 70433.

Rita Maroney passed away on Monday, Dec. 16, 2013.
She was 53 years old.
She was the mother of Jessica Loie Maroney and Patrick Nicolas Maroney; daughter of Dorothy Gonzales Rodriguez and Clayton Rodriguez; and sister of Michael Rodriguez. Niece of Winifred Dolan.
She was a native of New Orleans and a resident of Madisonville for the past 10 years.
Private funeral services were held with interment in Theodore Dendinger Cemetery.

Clarice Walder Craddock, of Mandeville, passed away on Thursday, Dec. 19, 2013.
She was 79 years old.
She was the daughter of the late Jules Walder Sr. and Nita Walder; wife of the late Dennis N. Craddock; mother of Carolyn Delatte, Beth Craddock, Glenn Craddock, and Charley Joe Craddock; and sister of Jules Walder Jr. and the late John E. Walder.
She is also survived by nine grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
A funeral mass was held on Dec. 23 at Our Lady of the Lake Catholic Church, Mandeville.

Donald B. Bayard passed away peacefully, surrounded by his family, on Wednesday, Dec. 18, 2013, at his residence in Mandeville.
He was 87 years old
He was the son of the late William and Marcel Soule’ Bayard.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Margaret Smerdell; son, Donald J. Bayard; grandson, Brett J. Bayard; and siblings, Dorothy and Dalton Bayard.
He is survived by children, Duane Bayard Goodpasture, William B. Bayard (Barbara), Robert J. Bayard (Kathy), Margaret R. Bayard, and Maria Bayard Weimer (Stephen); 13 grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren.
He was a retired petroleum engineer/geologist with Chevron for 38 years. He also served as Captain of Manresa House of Retreats.

A private memorial mass was held on Dec. 21 at Our Lady of the Lake Catholic Church, Mandeville.

Sharon L. Braselman passed away on Thursday, Dec. 26, 2013, in Covington.
She was 48 years old.
She was the wife of David Braselman; mother of Raymond, Riana, and Matthew Braselman; and daughter of Dwight and Eulalia Barger.
A funeral mass was held on Dec. 30 at St. Jane de Chantal Catholic Church, 72040 Maple St. Abita Springs.

Edna Chretien Schackai, of Slidell, passed away on Saturday, Dec. 21, 2013, in Slidell.
She was 92 years old.
She was the wife of the late John August Schackai; mother of John Eugene Schackai (Karen), Carole Addison (the late Joe Addison), and Darryl Schackai (Antonia); daughter of the late Eugene and Magdeline Chretien; sister of the late Anthony Chretien, Evelyn Smith, and Bertha Ward; grandchildren, Elizabeth Schackai, Catherine Schackai, Michele Arseneaux, Melissa Addison, Jason Schackai, Daniel Schackai, and Jon Schackai; and six great-grandchildren.
She was a native of New Orleans, and a resident of Slidell since 1956.
Funeral services were held at Honaker Funeral Home in Slidell on Dec. 27.
