Olga W. Wall passed away on Sunday, Dec. 1, 2013.
She was 76 years old.
She was the daughter of the late Patrick Sr. and Olga Alexius White.
Wall was the mother of Samuel and Ian Wall; grandmother of Ann-Marie, Alexius, Rose-Marie, and Elizabeth Jade Wall; and sister of Robert H. White and the late Patrick Jr., and Carroll White.
Wall was born and raised in Covington. She was a resident of Tacoma, WA for 21 years. She returned to Covington in 2008. She was a prominent draftsman for the city of Federal Way, WA.
A memorial service was held on Dec. 7 in the Bogue Falaya Park and Pavilion, 213 Park Dr., Covington.

Joseph Clifford Isaac Jr., a resident of Covington for 40 years, passed away on Saturday, Dec. 7, 2013.
He was 82 years old.
He was born in the city of Baton Rouge, on August 3, 1931.
He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Janet Philbrook Isaac; children, Cheryl Arabie (Greg) of Mandeville, Joseph (Joe) Isaac III (Ann) of Houston, Texas, Cathy Welton (Ralph) of Clemson, South Carolina, Christy Reimsnyder (Rob) of Gauthier, Mississippi and Jean Carolyn “Toots” Isaac of Covington; and brother of Ralph Isaac Pearl River.
He is also survived by 11 grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph Clifford Sr. and Lillie Addaline Isaac.
He served his country in the U.S. Army Security Agency during the Korean War. He was a charter member of St. Timothy on the Northshore United Methodist Church, a 32nd degree Free Mason and Shriner.
A celebration of his life took place at St. Timothy on the Northshore United Methodist Church in Mandeville on Dec. 10.
The family has asked that in lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the St. Timothy United Methodist Church “Samantha’s Playground,” 335 Asbury Drive Mandeville or the Shriner’s Hospital for Children in Shreveport, Louisiana.

Capt. Michael E. Rooney passed away on Thursday, Dec. 5, 2013, at his home in Covington.
He was 53 years old.
He was the son of Rosette Valudos Rooney and the late Emmett A. Rooney.
Rooney was the husband of Tammy Shows Rooney; father of Renee’ Rooney, Shawn R. Barnes (Brandon), Maicey Rooney, and Bethany Rooney; grandfather of Joseph Rooney, Alcee’ Rooney and Serena Barnes; brother of Victoria Hendricks; son-n-law of Captain and Mrs. Henry G. Shows Jr.; and father-in-law of Jason Poinecot.
He was born in Baton Rouge and was a resident of Covington for nine years. Rooney served in the United States Marine Corps and fought in the first Gulf War. He was proud to work as a ship pilot in south Louisiana for 12 years. He was President of the New Orleans Baton Rouge Steamship Pilots Association.
Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend a liturgy of the Word on Saturday, Dec. 14 at 2 p.m. at E.J. Fielding Funeral Home, 2260 W. 21st Ave., Covington.
Visitation will be held from 12 p.m. until service time. Interment will follow services in Pinecrest Memorial Gardens.

Charles “Pike” Emile Schmidt Jr. passed away on Monday, Dec. 2, 2013.
He was 83 years old.
He was born in New Orleans on September 23, 1930 and lived in the Folsom area for 55 years.
He was predeceased by his wife of 49 years, Marie Bergeron Schmidt; and his parents, Charles E. Schmidt Sr. and Angele LeBesque Schmidt.
He is survived by his five daughters, Emily (Paul) Moore, Claire (Mark) Spano, Mary (Ron) Owens, Heidi (Grant) Brown and Patricia Schmidt; and nine grandchildren.
He is also survived by his sister, Charlotte Schmidt Overton.
He attended Tulane University and Louisiana State University. At the age of 26, he was hired with Delta Airlines as a co-pilot trainee. He quickly became a Captain and flew with Delta for 31 years.
Funeral services were held on Dec. 6 at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, 11345 St. John Church Rd., Folsom.

Lucille Lumbattis Bivens passed away on Saturday, Nov. 30, 2013.
She was 92 years old.
She was the wife of the late O.B. Bivens.
She is also preceded in death by her daughter, Linda J. Bivens; parents, Floyd and Bertha Lumbattis; brothers, Floyd and Bob Lumbattis; and sister, Mary Morrison.
She is survived by her son, William Carl Bivens and his wife Rose Anne; grandchildren, Thomas, David, and Robert Bivens, Jennifer Bowers, and Ramona Elder; and seven great-grandchildren.

Lenore Charlotte Gross passed away in the presence of her family in Mandeville on Saturday, Nov. 30, 2013.
She was 77 years old.
She was born in Providence, RI to the late Benny Snyder and Gertrude Gersh Snyder. She was a longtime resident of Cranston, RI and Madison, Ala, and was a lifetime member of B’nai B’rith Women’s Organization and a longtime member of Temple B’nai Sholom of Huntsville, Ala.
She is survived by her husband, Paul B. Gross; children, Fred Gross (Yvonne), Teri Gross (Michael Hertzig) and Beth Gross-Santos; grandchildren, Erica, Jacob, Jamie, Samantha, Remi and Miles; and sister, Shirley Shapiro.
A graveside service was held on Dec. 2 at Pinecrest Memorial Gardens, 2280 W. 21st Ave. Covington. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to either the National Parkinson Foundation (www.parkinson.org) or to the Chronic Lymphocytic Leukemia Foundation (www.cllfoundation.org).
