Lions’ season ends after 1-0 setback against No. 12 Airline

BOSSIER CITY — Airline senior Cameron Parikh’s RBI single in the seventh inning broke a scoreless tie and left Covington with a season-ending 1-0 loss in the bi-district round of the Class 5A non-select playoffs last week in Bossier City.
#21 seed Covington finished their season at 20-12.
#12 seed Airline now advances to the best-of-three regional round to take on #5 seed Zachary.
Parikh went the distance on the mound to earn the win while striking out 10 Lion batters.
Mark Danko had two of Covington’s four hits.
Josh King and Hunter Rosier had the other hits.
