SULPHUR — Archbishop Hannan and Northlake Christian were both eliminated from the Division III playoffs last week when they were swept in the Regional round.
No. 13 Hannan lost its first game of the best-of-three series to No. 4 Riverside, 14-0, and fell in the second game, 15-2.
Northlake Christian, the 15th-seeded team, took on No. 2 Ouachita Christian, and suffered defeats of 10-0 in the first game and 12-0 in the finale.
In Game 1 of the Hannan-Riverside series, Zack Gieger blasted grand slam home run in second inning to ignite his team to victory.
Mason Vicknair hit two home runs for Riverside in that contest and Jordan Loving tossed a one-hitter as the fourth-seeded team captured the victory in the opener.
In the second game, Riverside scored six runs in the first inning and tacked on four more in the second as it captured the 15-2 victory and advanced in the playoffs.
Brandon Klein had two hits and drove in the two runs for Archbishop Hannan.
