ALEXANDRIA – A number of local players made good this season helping the Louisiana State University-Alexandria Generals finish a very successful season.
On the basketball court, three Slidell players made themselves known.
Junior Joseph Feraci, a Pope John Paul II graduate, appeared in 20 games for the Generals hitting 24-of-63 shots and 21-of-54 from the three-point line. He also hit 14-of-21 free throws for an 83-point season.
Sophomore William Claiborne, a Northshore grad, played in 22 games and hit 27-of-41 from the field and 11-of-20 free throws for 65 points.
At last but not least, Chris Vickers, a freshman who hails from the Salmen Spartans, played in 31 games hitting 38-of-119 from the field and 31-of-99 from the arc. He also excelled at the foul line hitting 23-of-28 for a 130-point season.
Freshman John Norvel, also from Salmen, was red-shirted this season.
And in baseball, pitcher Brett Brooks who pitched for the Mandeville Skippers, appeared in 25 games and pitched 35 innings.
Brooks finished the season with a 4-3 record and a 2.29 ERA.
